the 2012 F1 show to a massive degree. But the Italian rubber
supplier has a long history of influencing the way the sport
looks: through the annual Pirelli calendar that features scantily
clad women in provocative poses. While the calendar girls
delighted rubbernecking male chauvinist pigs, in recent years
feminists tended to be outraged. Perhaps to be more politically
correct the 2011 calendar included full frontal nude shots of
both genders, staged and photographed by eccentric fashion
designer Karl Lagerfeld. For the 2012 version Italian fashion
photographer Mario Sorrenti - 'an artiste whose fame was built on his extraordinary skill with nudes' - goes back to basics,
creating images featuring a dozen undraped supermodels and
actresses striking artful poses in aspects of the rugged Corsican
landscape. It's all done in the best possible taste, though with no mention of the PZero range of F1 rubber.
